Scholarship and awards season opens with Albert Wisner Library Foundation honor

The Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation announced the 2023 winners of its annual college scholarship essay competition. Congratulations to Anika Simon, who is bound for SUNY Oswego to study earth science in the fall, and Liliana King, who will attend Northwestern University to study communications.

Anika and Liliana were recognized for the exceptional essays they wrote based on the essay competition topic: Tell us about a book that affected you deeply and explain why. The students recently met at the Albert Wisner Library with longtime scholarship sponsors Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes, who initiated two Foundation scholarships in 2007.
