District to work with Jewish Federation on tolerance and diversity education
The Warwick Valley Central School District will partner with the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County on presentations and activities to promote tolerance and character education.
The district has begun working closely with the Jewish Federation to develop a series of programs and initiatives this school year to raise awareness of diversity, promote discussion and understanding, and combat antisemitism.
Activities will include professional development training sessions for educators, school assemblies and the creation of a “Stop Hate” media campaign.
The goal is to create a model program in the Warwick school district that can be shared with other school districts in the county.
The Jewish Federation recently received a major gift of $50,000 to create a new fund to combat local antisemitism in Orange County.
