WVMS Wildcats honor two more teachers on week two gameday… My Jersey, Your Impact

October 5, 2021

The WVMS Wildcats continued their new game day tradition this morning — My Jersey, Your Impact

Eighth graders on the modified football team are honoring faculty members who have made big impacts on them during their Middle School careers. Each week on gameday, two players present their Wildcats jerseys to the teacher they choose, as a way to say, “thank you for everything.”

The teachers are invited to either wear the jersey or display it outside of their classroom for the day, leading up to game time. It is week two of the season, and two more Wildcats — Matthew Abel and Aidan Galletta — presented their jerseys this morning.

Matthew Abel presented his #1 jersey to Ms. Joan Rueckert.

“I decided to give my jersey to Ms. Rueckert because she’s just always been a good friend to me,” said Matt. “I liked having her as my social studies teacher last year, and she’s also known my family for a long time.”

Aidan Galletta presented his #60 jersey to Ms. Sarah Begley.

“I had Ms. Begley as my teacher for ELA and reading last year,” said Aidan. “She really helped me out a lot. I’m glad to have her again for class again this year.”

Check back weekly on Tuesdays throughout the season for more My Jersey, Your Impact honors.

Have a great game with Goshen this afternoon, team. Go Wildcats!
