WVMS Wildcats carry “My Jersey, Your Impact” campaign into week four

October 19, 2021

Seventh grade players from the WVMS Wildcats modified football team got into the team’s new game day tradition today — My Jersey, Your Impact. Each gameday this season, players have been honoring some of their favorite teachers for the meaningful impacts they’ve made on them during their time at the Middle School.

This week, three more players said, “thank you for everything,” by handing over their jerseys to be displayed by the teachers throughout the day, leading up to game time.

Interestingly, it turns out that Wildcats lineman Kayden Hadnot chose to give his jersey to a seventh grade teacher who also played lineman during his football days!

Kayden Hadnot presented his #51 jersey to Mr. Justin Larkin.

“He’s always taken the time to help me understand my lessons; taken the time to help me really be prepared,” said Kayden.

Jake Green presented his #19 jersey to ELA teacher Ms. Amanda Wright.

“Ms. Wright always goes above and beyond to be helpful,” said Jake. “She’s just a really nice person and she’s helped me a lot.”

Sean Perez presented his #12 jersey to Mr. Kyle Putnam.

“I remember that I was really nervous about coming into the middle school in fifth grade,” said Sean. “Mr. Putnam was my fifth grade teacher, and always helped me feel comfortable.”

Check back here next week for more jersey presentations. Have a great game this afternoon, Wildcats!
