WVMS students create rock garden to commemorate 8th grade moving up

May 25, 2021

WVMS is counting down to Moving Up Week (June 20-25), and there are only three more weeks to go! Students have been having a great time in different academic and social events each week since April. First, the countdown events kicked off with picnic lunches. The following week, students filled a time capsule. The week after that, they taught the staff a thing or two about playing kickball.

And, this week’s activity? Well… it rocks!

Eighth grade students have been collecting rocks in anticipation of decorating them for a new, colorful rock garden in the seventh and eighth grade courtyard. That’s where they gathered on Tuesday afternoon to paint and set their rocks up for display. The rock garden is intended to commemorate and celebrate the students’ eighth grade year.

A very special thank you goes out to the PTA for providing the paints and brushes. The decorated rocks turned out awesome, and are placed throughout the courtyard to honor this year’s Moving Up class.

Go take a look!
