WVMS National History Day student projects qualify for States

WVMS National History Day regionals 2017Congratulations to eight students from the Social Studies classes of Middle School teachers, Mr. Rauschenbach, Mr. Zwart, and Ms. Rueckert, who competed in the Mid-Hudson Regional competition of National History Day on Saturday, March 11.

The students were tasked with creating a research project based on the theme “Taking a Stand in History.”

They were then required to present their findings and analysis in one of five mediums.

The contest was open to students in Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Dutchess counties, and was held at the FDR Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, NY.

All WVMS entries placed in the top two, and thus qualified to move on to the New York State finals in Cooperstown on April 24.
