WVMS Guitar Club Will Rock Warwick on Feb. 2

and the Boss…all the makings of a great gig by the Warwick Valley Middle School Guitar Club!

The Guitar Club, in its 23rd year, will present its annual concert on Fri., Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. (snow date Tues., Feb. 6) in the High School auditorium.

Music Spans Decades

As it does every year, the concert lineup includes hits that span the decades and appeal to today’s generation as well as their parents and grandparents.
Songs from the Beatles, the Ronettes, The Police, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Earth Wind and Fire will be featured as well as selections from Elton John, INXS, Van Halen, Imagine Dragons, All-American Rejects, Portugal The Man, Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen.

The popular Wire Choir, under the direction of Elissa Jones, will play two instrumental pieces: John Williams’ movie theme, “Schindler’s List”, and Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson.

There will be a faculty number, always a big hit at the concert.

Guitar Club advisors Ed Mesic and John Gouveia have also been assisted by other faculty members including Elissa Jones, Ryan Muehlbauer, Elio Vezza and Pete Stika. Retired English teacher, Darryl Wilbur, a founding advisor of the Club, remains involved as well. Warwick grad Jack Sinsabaugh, of Audio Services, LLC, will provide the sound for the concert.

Preview of Concert on WTBQ

A preview of the concert can be heard on Mon., Jan 29 at 12 noon, on local radio station WTBQ (1110 AM, 93.5 FM) during the “Your Schools” program with Dr. David Leach, WVCSD Superintendent of Schools.

Tickets Available at Middle School

Tickets for the concert will be on sale the week of Jan. 29 during lunch periods at the Middle School in the cafeteria, as well as in the Middle School Office. Ticket prices are a $5 donation for adults, $3 for students.
