WVHS students recognized at CTEC ceremony

Logo for Orange-Ulster BOCESOn June 22, the Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education Center held its 49th annual Student Recognition Ceremony in the SUNY Orange gymnasium in Middletown.

Warwick Valley High School students who were recognized included:

  • Victoria Caban – Academy Winner & Molfetas Scholarship
  • Brandon Calabrese – Outstanding Student & CTEC Scholar
  • Daniel Campagna – Andrew Sanok Scholarship
  • Nicole Castellano – Outstanding Student Award
  • Jennifer Chinas – Molfetas Scholarship
  • Steven Cianci – Achievement Winner & CTEC Scholar
  • Sean Degnan – Achievement Winner Award
  • Brittany Murroni – Academy Winner Award
  • Grace Sather – Achievement Winner Award

Seven hundred seventy three students were honored for completing their various occupational programs at the Career and Technical Education Center. This is the largest graduating class in Orange County.

Three hundred eighty one students who demonstrated a specific competency on an Industrial Standard Assessment were recognized with a Technical Endorsement on their high school diploma. This distinction is the technical equivalent of graduating with academic honors.

During their two years attending CTE programs, some students earned as many as 20 college credits to jump-start their post-secondary education. Scholarships for outstanding performance and community service, totaling $30,325, were also awarded to students during the evening ceremony.
