WVHS students excel in several Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at OU BOCES

Warwick students have been representing our school district well with these recent accomplishments in the Career and Technical Education program at Orange-Ulster BOCES!

Derrek Elgarten – Digital Design and Advertising

Recently, Orange-Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Education students competed in a contest to design posters aimed at getting smokers to quit.

Posters were designed by all 17 students in the Digital Design and Advertising II classes.

Derrek Elgarten, a Warwick Valley High School senior and C-TEC student, created the second place poster, which shows a set of lungs damaged by smoking. Says Derrek, “I continue to hone my art skills as much as possible.”

Max Warren – Engineering

WVHS senior Max Warren was one of 12 students in the CTE Cisco/CCNA Computer Networking Program who recently placed in the qualifying rounds of the 2016-17 CyberPatriot, a cyber security competition.

The Cisco/CCNA program is offered through Orange-Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Education (CTE).

Kyle Richter – Fire Science

Kyle Richter, a WVHS student in the CTE Fire Science program, participated in a recent scenario-based fire training with instructors from the Orange County Fire Training Center.

The fire science program is offered through Orange-Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Education (CTE).
