The Warwick Valley High School Junior Prom is just around the corner.  This year, the prom will be on Friday, April 24, 2020, at The West Hills Country Club in Middletown, N.Y.  It will be from 6:00-10:00 p.m.  Tickets will ONLY be sold March 4th, 5th and 6th after school in room 129. Afternoon C-tech students may buy the tickets those mornings.  The cost of the tickets will be $135 per person (price includes: meal, DJ, invitations, favors, etc). Payment must be with check or money order… NO CASH…. All checks for the Prom tickets MUST be made out to Warwick Valley Central School District .  The cost of the prom ticket may be offset by the Java Joe Fundraiser from the Fall, or the recent Flower Power fundraiser.

To make sure your son/daughter is safe and has a wonderful evening, there are a few regulations which you, as the parent(s)/guardian(s), need to be aware of regarding the Junior Prom this year.

  • Your son/daughter, as well as their guest,  must be academically and behaviorally eligible to buy a ticket(s) for the prom. Grades from the 2nd marking period will be used to determine academic eligibility.  A student is not academically eligible to purchase if he/she failed two or more classes in the last marking period. If he/she becomes academically or behaviorally ineligible after the ticket is purchased, he/she will not be able to attend the Prom and will NOT be refunded the cost of the ticket(s).  This will be strictly enforced.

  • Alkasensors (alcohol testing devices) will be used to test everyone entering the Prom.   Students will not be allowed into the Prom facility under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  Parent(s)/guardian(s) will be notified immediately and must pick up their son/daughter at the door.

  • If alcohol is found in any vehicle, all students who arrived in that vehicle will not be admitted into the prom. Parent(s)/guardian(s) will be notified to pick up their son/daughter.

  • If a student has broken a school rule at the Prom, a parent or guardian will be called to take that student home.  Please note, they will not be released to anyone else, including limo drivers.

  • Once a student leaves the designated Prom area at West Hills Country Club, he/she will not be allowed back in.

  • Students are subject to all Warwick Valley High School rules at the Prom.

Please note the Consent and Agree form.  Review these policies with your son/daughter and return the signed form by February 25, 2020.  Students will NOT be allowed to purchase a ticket(s) without this consent form.  All guests must have a Guest Consent and Agree formed signed as well.

If you should have any questions regarding the Prom, please feel free to contact me at jfogler@wvcsd.org   Thank you.
