WVHS 1965-66 Section IX Championship Team to be recognized, along with John Winchester, ’54, and John Jaje, ’66

The WVHS Boys Basketball Program will hold the 7th Annual Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony on Fri., Jan. 22, 2016, in the Gymnasium at Warwick Valley High School. The Induction ceremony will begin immediately before the start of the boy’s varsity home basketball game vs. James I. O’Neill High School, approximately 6:15 p.m.

The Induction Class of 2016 consists of two former Warwick Valley High School basketball players, John Winchester, Class of 1954 and John Jaje, Class of 1966. The Boys Basketball Hall of Fame committee selected both individuals.

This year we will also recognize the 1965-66 Section IX championship boys basketball team. Members of the team were: Jeff Beattie, John Connelly, Glenn Griffin, John Jaje, Joe Perna, Art Quackenbush, George Rudy, Larry Scheuermann, Bob Smith, Jim Tomczak, Dick Wadeson and Head Coach Vito Magdelinskas. Called up from junior varsity team: Jack Degraw, Tom Goodman, Art Kamarad and Chip Magdelinskas. Many members of the team will be attendance on this night.

It looks to be an exciting night of basketball at Warwick Valley High School. Come out and pay tribute to these individuals whose careers had a major impact on the history of Warwick Wildcat Boys Basketball.

Immediately after the game there will be a post-game reception to honor the inductees and the 1965-66 championship team. Cake and coffee will be served. You can email the Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Tom Folino, for more information.
