WVHS Athletes of the Week: Kevin Walter & Julia Mosier

Kevin Walter

Senior standout Kevin Walter has been selected as this week’s WVHS Student-Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Bill Garcia: Allstate Insurance Agency in Warwick.

Kevin is a three-year midfielder and team captain of the Warwick Valley lacrosse team. He has also been selected as WVHS Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the Orange County League. Kevin is graduating in the top five of his graduating class, with a GPA of 103. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, and leader of the Robotics Club. Kevin will be attending Clarkson University in the fall, where he will be studying mechanical engineering.

Kevin is the son of Samantha and Scott Walter of Warwick, New York. His brothers – Ryan, an RIT graduate, Sean, a UNH Graduate, and Ben, a WVHS sophomore – are all standout Wildcat student-athletes.

Julia Mosier

Julia Mosier has been selected as this week’s WVHS Student-Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Bill Garcia: Allstate Insurance Agency in Warwick. 

Julia was also named WVHS Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the Orange County League. She has been a volleyball and track and field star for Warwick Valley, and is a track and field All-American and NYSPHSAA state champion in the 4×400 meters (both indoors).

Julia is the valedictorian of the Class of 2021, with a weighted GPA of 104, and a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She also earned NYSSMA All-State and Named All-Eastern honors this year as a vocalist. Julia is attending the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University in the fall, where she will major in business.

Julia is the daughter of Jennifer and Robert Mosier of Warwick, New York.  Her sister, Jenna, is a sophomore and her brother, Robert, is in the fifth grade.
