Winter athletics set to begin in mid-January

Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association establishes January 19 start date

Following the recommendation of the Orange County Department of Health, the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) has set January 19, 2021 as the official start date for Scholastic Winter Athletics.

Sports in the winter season include boys swim and dive, indoor track, skiing, basketball, wrestling and competitive cheer. Athletic teams are open to all Warwick students participating in either the District’s hybrid instructional model or Distance Learning Academy.

Students planning to come out for a team should have an active physical — given after November 30, 2019 — on file with the High School or Middle School nurse’s office by January 18, 2021.
