Welcome to the newly redesigned Warwick Valley Central School District website

September 29, 2020

Enhanced content, design and navigation provide expanded information with simplified use

The Warwick Valley Central School District launched its newly redesigned website on Friday evening, after a long period of careful planning and creative design. The all-new website (www.warwickvalleyschools.com) was developed using best practices, analytics of the prior District site, and information collected from a committee of school staff, parents and community members.

The website is still home to all of the trusted information parents and students use regularly. In addition to its new look, the website also includes all-new content and streamlined navigation to provide an overall improved user experience.

“We’re very excited about the new site and what it offers our families,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Leach. “It retains all of the important information parents and students have come to rely on from our old site, but it also includes updated and new information related to these unique times and our new learning models.”

The cleaner and more attractive design provides enhanced functionality to enable easy access to the wealth of information included on the website. Features such as interactive drop-down menus simplify the navigation process, and a powerful search function is easily accessible from any page.

The new design incorporates a much more responsive layout than the old site, which translates to better usability not only on desktops, but on the devices people use minute-by-minute – their tablets and smartphones. Additionally, the site is optimized for the most popular web browsers – Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari – to provide an optimal viewing experience with easy reading and navigation.

Parent and student portal links are located at the top of the dynamic new homepage for easy access, while the graphically rich environment shows off our students’ and staff’s Wildcat spirit, and the beauty of our buildings and grounds. News & Announcements are also included on the homepage to keep families updated on the most recent District happenings. All District calendars, including a regularly updated Google Calendar of upcoming events and important dates, is accessible via clearly labeled and positioned “Quick Links,” which will also provide redirects to popular pages such as Closings & Delays, Lunch Menus, and Covid-19 information.

Each school, including the newly reopened Pine Island Elementary School, has its own individual page featuring unique school links, contacts, and more.

The all-new website fulfills all web accessibility requirements laid out by the American Disabilities Act, making it accessible to individuals who have vision, hearing, and physical disabilities.
