Warwick’s Ultamania Faculty Basketball Draws Over 1,000 Fans, Raises Over $6,000

March 27, 2023

Warwick’s 2023 Ultamania drew record numbers as over 1,000 fans came out to support their teachers in the annual faculty basketball game that featured the high school staff taking on the middle school and elementary teachers.  The game came down to the last seconds as the Middle/ Elementary School Held on for the win.

The night included many highlights and featured the game’s all-time leading scorer (Mr. O’Brien from the WVHS) battle the game’s all-time leading rebounder in Mr. Rauschenbach from the WVMS.  The halftime dance was led by Coach McElroy (Sanfordville) with over 500 people doing the Cupid Shuffle, Cotton Eye Joe and many other fan favorites.

Many thanks to the people that make the event happen behind the scenes including Lions Club Member George McManus, Heidi Thonus, Rocco Manno (T-shirts and certificates), elementary and middle school physical education staff for running the districts foul shooting championships (over 1,300 students participated at the building level) including Graig McElroy, Shawn Myers, Brittany Anderson, Kristen Nazco, Mike Potter, Taylor Mann, Brad Garcia and Phil Szumlaski.

Over $6,000 was collected to benefit the Lions Club Charities and the Warwick Valley Teachers Association Scholarship Fund to benefit WVHS seniors. Thank you for your continued support of this event. Go Wildcats!
