Warwick’s Mock Trial team advances to next round of competition

on March 27, 2017

Eleven¬†teams from Orange and Ulster County school districts competed in the March 25 mock trial competition in Goshen, with only eight teams advancing to the next level. The WVHS Mock Trial team has earned the opportunity to compete again on April 1. “The team worked so hard and practiced so much,” said Denise Markt, advisor and English teacher at the high school, “I am very happy for them!”

Mock Trial is a combined effort involving educators and the New York State Bar Association in which students try a fictional case, based on real-life events.

Team members play the parts of defendants, prosecutors, defense attorneys, witnesses and police investigators. Real-life judges volunteer their time.
