Log Information

Log Information

We are not mandating any specific format for your logs, but you do have to account for your 15+ hours in writing.

Some people decide to get a composition notebook and jot down their progress in that. People are also typing up log entries. Others use a type of column format on a spreadsheet, like this:

Mentor Requirements

The format that works best for you will depend on your preference and on the nature of your project. Remember that EVERYTHING you (alone and with mentor) do related to your project counts!! No matter how you choose to track your hours, you MUST include the following in your log entries:

  • Date
  • Time (calculate your total hours for each entry)
  • Reflection: explain what you accomplished on your project, what you learned, challenges you encountered, things you need to improve on, what you liked/disliked, things you hope to be able to do in the future, etc.
