Become a PTSA member!

The Warwick Valley High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is grateful for past participation of parents, and hopes you will join or renew your membership for this school year. Your membership dollars are used for the following programs and events:

  • To fund High School seniors with scholarships from the High School PTSA, as well as additional scholarships from the Warwick Valley PTSA Council.
The council consists of PTSA members from Warwick Valley high School, Park Ave Elementary, Sanfordville Elementary and the Warwick Valley Middle School. We all donate money to fund to outstanding Warwick students in our senior class as they continue their education in college and beyond.
The 2019 recipients were Jeffrey Koff, Kaylee Oelofse, Hannah Davis and Lauren LePre. The 2018 recipients were Maya Henderson, Katelyn Pinskey and Claire Bulkley.
  • We also support the Senior Project Dinner celebration held in June every year. We have partnered with the Student Senate and have a Faculty/Staff appreciation luncheon June in the outside in the Pavilion by the track. This is an opportunity for us to show the teachers and staff at Warwick High School how important they are to us and the students.

The Reflections Program

The PTSA runs the Reflections program, a National PTA and New York State PTA cultural arts competition that gives students confidence in their abilities to explore ideas and learn through the arts. Students in preschool through grade 12 create and submit original works in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.
Students participate in the national awards program through their school’s PTA.

This past year Warwick Valley High School had 55 entries in the 2018 -19 theme “Heroes Around Me.” Grace Hoey won an Award of Merit in the Visual Arts competition. She was awarded a certificate and gift card from the WVHS PTSA for her. Our Art teacher Kristin Spano who is a dedicated supporter of the PTSA and in her students was given an award from the Warwick Valley PTA’s for always going “Above and Beyond” at the Board of Education meeting in June 2019.

The 2019-20 Reflections theme is “LookWithin.” Interested students can find out more about it from this link or on our Facebook page.

We rely on our members

To raise funds for these programs and events, we rely on membership dollars and fund raising. For each individual member who joins for $10, we are able to retain $6 to fund the WVHS PTSA. ($4 goes to NYSPTA). Parent/faculty and staff membership is $10; student membership is $8. We also have Booster Membership.

We’re looking for members interested in creating a vibrant PTSA that is reflective of our community. We welcome the ideas and suggestions of our members and are looking forward to working together to provide enrichment opportunities for students and their families, as well as the faculty and staff of Warwick Valley High School. It is not a requirement that members volunteer or participate in any other way than purchasing a membership, but we welcome your participation if you wish to do so.

To ensure that the PTSA continues to bring valuable programs to WVHS students and parents, please support your Parent Teacher Student Association at Warwick Valley High School!

Warwick Valley High School PTSA welcome letter

The Warwick Valley High School PTSA would like to welcome back our extended body of students from Greenwood Lake, Chester, Sugar Loaf, Warwick and Pine Island.

A special welcome to our new incoming 9th graders and all new students whom are joining us for the first time. We challenge the entire student body to explore your new world, define yourselves as individuals, use the resources provided to you by the teachers, staff, parents, school leaders, PTSA, community and fellow students to strive to become the best that you can be and stand proud as WVHS Wildcats.

Welcome back to our teachers, support staff and administrators. We look forward to an exciting and successful year under the leadership of WVHS Principal, Dr. Washington, Associate Principal Fusco and Associate Principal Sweeney. Thank you for your continued support.

Welcome and thank you to all of our parents. It is your support throughout the elementary and middle school years that has kept our student body one of the best in Orange County. It is your support that will also keep the programs and activities that the WVHS-PTSA provides for our young adults so diverse and successful.

In the past the PTSA has sponsored wellness programs, drug awareness education, informational forums, cultural arts programs, technology in-services, educational programs, community outreach, scholarships awards, positive self-esteem programs, teacher and staff appreciation events.

Parents, teachers and students – please consider becoming a member of the PTSA. Your membership goes a long way in providing us with the framework to continue successful programs. We also invite you to join us monthly meetings. The dates will be posted on the school calendar and WVHS-PTSA webpage on the district website.

Please consider signing up for one of our committees or volunteer for an event. Students can contact us for volunteer hours or ideas for events they could use our help with. We can always be contacted through our email, and check our Facebook page often for news and events.

I would also like thank the current board members for volunteering their time and thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm you have for the upcoming school year.
