Thursday, Dec. 5

Today is a B day

HAPPENING TODAY: 

  • OCAL – Please meet Mr. Mark and Ms. Baisley in the main lobby today at 1:55.  This is a time change from yesterday. Again please meet in the lobby at 1:55.   
  • FBIL – The Future Business and Investment Leaders will meet at unit lunch today in room 123. 

COMING UP: 

  • DRAMA CLUB – Attention all auditionees: If you were scheduled to audition on the snow day, the rescheduled date is now Tuesday, December 10th, following the same schedule. Additionally, if any students still wants to audition for the musical and can be seen on Tuesday, they should see Mr. DiLeo as soon as possible.
  • COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES – The Craft Fair at the Middle School Dec. 7th still needs volunteers.  Please stop by the Guidance Office for the sign up information.
  • SENIOR TRIP – Attention seniors! Senior trip paperwork, deposit check made out to Warwick Valley Central School District, and separate insurance check made out to Four Winds should be handed in to Ms. Buffardi, 231, or Mrs. Gaytan Castro, 128, on Tuesday, December 10th. Do not leave the permission slip packet until the last minute because notarization is required. Questions? See Ms. Buffardi or Mrs. GC. 
  • LIFEGUARDS – Any student interested in becoming a lifeguard stop by room 120 and pick up information sheets in the yellow folder.  Classes begin December 10th. Any current lifeguard that needs recertification should do the same.  See Ms. Hamilton with any questions.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

Today is an A day

HAPPENING TODAY: 

  • GIRLS BASKETBALL APPAREL – Today is the last day to order from the Girls Basketball apparel website.  Check it out and order today!!
  • EMPTY BOWLS CLUB – The Empty Bowls Club is meeting today during lunch in room 70.  Next meeting will be Friday the 6th.
  • ATTENTION OCAL MEMBERS –  We will be having a MANDATORY practice for all team members today after school in room 145.  Please bring your permission slips with you. If you can’t make the meeting, please see Mr. Mark or Ms. Baisley ASAP!
  • DRAMA CLUB – Attention all auditionees: If you were scheduled to audition on the snow day, the rescheduled date is now Tuesday, December 10th, following the same schedule. Mr. DiLeo does have spots available today after 4:00 pm; if you wish to come today, please arrive at 4 pm and wait for a spot to open. Additionally, if any students still wants to audition for the musical and can be seen on Tuesday, they should see Mr. DiLeo as soon as possible.
  • ORCHESTRA – Reminder tonight is the orchestra concert at 7pm.  All participating performers need to arrive at 6pm. 
  • STUDIO MUSIC CLUB – There will be NO studio music or wire choir this week.
  • ASVAB TEST – A reminder to all students who have signed up to take the ASVAB test tomorrow.  You will need to report directly to room 151 at the beginning of the day. 
     

COMING UP:

    • SCHOLARSHIPS – There are two new scholarships for the Class of 2020 that have early application deadlines.  
      The Jenkins Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors who will be pursuing a degree in education. The deadline is December 15, 2019.
    • The Sobo & Sobo, LLP has announced its 2019-2020 essay contest.  Please view the Sobo & Sobo poster in the senior hallway & outside the main office.  The deadline is January 31, 2020.

  • WVTV  – Attention WVTV viewers – the late Autumn Edition of Wildcat News is up on YouTube.  Get your fill of club, college, and Almost Maine news on your source for all things Warwick Valley High School.
