WVHS Drama Club 2019-20 Season

The High School Drama Club invites you to join them for two irresistibly funny and hardly predictable productions this theater season:

Almost Main comes to Warwick Nov. 1-2Fall Production: Almost, Maine – Friday, Nov. 1 & Saturday, Nov. 2

Almost, Maine, a collection of two-person scenes by John Cariani, has been the most popular production for high schools this decade. In fact, 2019 marks the fifth consecutive year the play has garnered the number one spot in this category. Comprised of nine individual vignettes, Almost, Maine’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost will never be the same. Poignant, humorous and sometimes heartbreaking, this unique romantic comedy will leave our audience members warmed on a crisp autumn evening.

Returning to direct the production is the Club’s advisor, Nick DiLeo, with Donna Nestor serving as producer. The sets are being constructed by the set design class at WVHS under the coordination of art teacher Rocco Manno. The cast of Almost, Maine is comprised of nineteen actors, ranging from freshmen to seniors, with another twenty students serving as the stage crew.

Almost, Maine will be performed on Friday, Nov.  1 at p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6.00 for senior citizens. No advance tickets will be sold for this production; instead, the Club’s box office team will be available one hour before each scheduled curtain time to sell tickets. If residents have a question, they may contact the Club at 987-3050, voicemail box #22500, or via email at wvhsdramaclub@wvcsd.org.

"The Drowsy Chaperon" logoSpring Production: The Drowsy Chaperone – Friday, March 13 & Saturday, March 14

Winner of five Tony Awards, including best book and best original score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance after another. Lively and farcical, The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre. If you are a musical theater lover, this musical is for you!
