The 1920s come to life this spring when the WVHS Drama Club presents the premiere of the musical comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone.

The curtain rises on a present-day musical theater fanatic who is eager to tell the audience about his favorite Broadway musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. When he plays the cast album for them, the show cleverly and magically blooms to life in his apartment, telling the tale of a pampered Broadway starlet and her debonair fiancé, an overzealous producer, a dizzy chorus girl, a Latin lover, a couple of bumbling gangsters, and a boozy chaperone. Ruses are played, hi-jinx occur, and the plot spins everyone into musical comedy
euphoria. This is a great night of theater the whole family will enjoy together.

The Drowsy Chaperone is being directed by Nick DiLeo, the Club’s advisor, and produced by Donna Nestor. Joining them are Beth Maisonet as choreographer and Noreen Hanson and Chris Persad as musical directors. The shows sets are being created by the WVHS set design class under the supervision of art teacher, Rocco Manno.

The show will perform on Friday, March 13 at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for senior citizens and children under ten. To order advance tickets for the production beginning Tuesday, February 18, residents should visit the Drama Club’s webpage at to locate and complete the online order form.
