Warwick Valley High School is proud to select senior Alec Warnock as this weeks’ Bill Garcia Allstate Student-Athlete of the Week.

Alec and the 4 x 800 meter relay team of Jeremy Platt-Strack, Behailu Bekele-Arcuri, and Tom Gardiner qualified for both the NYSPHSAA championships and nationals by winning the prestigious fast times relay in late May. Alec also competes in the 400 meters, where he has run a 49.39 on a relay leg. The Wildcats finished seventh at the NYSPHSAA State Championships this past weekend in Cicero in the Boys 4 x 800 meter with a time of 7:58.37.

Alec is an outstanding student with a grade point average of 92.54 and is enrolled in challenging courses, including AP government and politics and AP environmental science. He is a three-season track athlete who competes in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track, focused primarily on middle distance. He has run a blazing 1:58 in the 800 meters.

Alec will be attending Fordham University in the fall and plans to major in computer science. He is the son of Wendy and Gordon Warnock of Warwick and has two older brothers, Max and Taylor.
