Wildcat Football’s 2017 Hall of Fame Class announced

Darcey, White and DePonte Earn Honors

Warwick Football is proud to announce its 2017 Hall of Fame Class of James DePonte (1980 graduate), Ryan Darcey (2006 graduate) and Rian White (2010 graduate).

All three of the inductees have had a great impact on the history of Warwick football, and will be introduced at the Warwick Football Golf Outing on Fri., August 11 at the Hickory Hill Golf Course in Warwick.

James anchored an offensive line that was the best in the Orange County League, including 7 All County football players: DePonte, Rick Lekoski , Fred Whaley, Russ Pfeiffer, Dave Holt, Steve Zuk and Brian Kittner.

The 1979 team finished 8-1-1, including a 40-18 win over Goshen and a 14-7 win over Monroe-Woodbury.

Following graduation, James earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the University at Albany and serves as an advisory Board Member for their School of Business.

He is currently employed as a partner at Price Waterhouse Cooper in New York City.

He has been married to Maureen DePonte for 26 years, and resides with his two daughters in Stamford, CT. He is the brother of Warwick Football Hall of Fame member, Paul DePonte.

Ryan Darcey

Ryan Darcey

Ryan Darcey led the Wildcats to Division titles in 2004 and 2005 as QB/Athlete.

Selected Football Captain as a senior, Darcey’s 4th and 19 scramble against Minisink for a first down led the Wildcats to the Division Title and AA Football Playoff berth. Ryan was an All-League and All-Section selection.

Following graduation, he was a 4-years starter at Fordham University as an Outside Linebacker for Coach Tom Massella, and played on the Fordham Patriot League Champion Team of 2007.

Ryan coached for the Fordham Rams for a year, then left the Rams for a successful career on Wall Street.

Ryan returned to his football roots, and is currently employed by the New York Jets as Offensive Video Coordinator, entering his 6th year in Green and White.

Ryan, his wife Rebecca and daughter Madison recently moved back to Warwick.

Rian White
2010 Graduate

Rian White

Rian was a QB and key contributor to the Wildcat Division Championship 2009 Team that finished 8-2.

Rian’s career statistics as a QB include 4089 passing yards, 50 passing TDs and 26 rushing TDs.

In his senior year he had a QB rating of 123.1 and 31 passing TDs, was selected as Section 9 AA Offensive Player of the Year and All State QB.

Rian played two years of football at Villanova and graduated in 2014 with a degree in Finance. He currently works for Motorola Solutions in Chicago.

He is engaged to Warwick graduate Taylor Totaro, and they plan a spring wedding.
