View the Middle School March video newsletter!

on March 6, 2018

Parents are invited to view the Warwick Valley Middle School monthly newsletter.

In a creative collaboration with the WVHS Cosmetology and Communications programs, the newsletter has been produced as a video newscast for your viewing enjoyment!

Before filming, HS students in the Cosmetology program prepared the MS student newscasters for the camera with hair styling and makeup.

Each month, a different group of students will record MS news in the high school video production area.

Warwick Valley Middle School March 2018 video newsletter

Hello, and welcome to Warwick Valley Middle School’s March Newscast.
This past month has been very busy and we got the opportunity to celebrate a number of events.

My name is Sophia Shea and I am a 5th grader at the Middle School.

On February 2, our Guitar Club held their annual concert at the High School. The guitar club students performed a number of rock and roll songs and joined up with our Wire Choir, as well. The staff band did an awesome job of showing off their rock and roll roots by performing an old Kinks song! The concert had people dancing in the aisles!!

Hi! My name is Erin Smith and I am a 6th grader at Warwick Valley Middle School. During the second week of February, all the students participated in a mid-year review with our administrators. We reviewed rules and expectations while discussing how the year was going so far. I think it has been a pretty cool year!

On February 12 our girls undefeated modified basketball team played their last home game against Monroe-Woodbury, and our very own Theodore Fernandez announced the game! Our Literary Magazine Club also celebrated their first publication! Students used a winter theme to write poems, stories, comics and more! Keep your eye out for a digital copy in your email and paper copies around the school!

Hi! My name is Kanye Stockwell and I am a 7th grader at Warwick Valley Middle School. On February 13, students honored our local veterans by hosting our annual Valentine’s for Vets Breakfast. Veterans from the military were treated to music from Wire Choir, the Guitar Club, and many others. Every veteran received a card made by our students. They all enjoyed the wonderful breakfast that was made for them.

Hi! I am Luke Seibel and I am an 8th grader at Warwick Valley Middle School. This month, our 6th graders had the opportunity to learn about the different World Language options available to them as 7th graders. At the Middle School our 7th graders can choose between Chinese, French and Spanish for their Foreign Language. They must take this class for both 7th and 8th grade.

In addition, our 8th graders had the opportunity to learn about the different electives they can take at the High School during an Electives Fair that occurred during their advisory and lunch periods.

Looking ahead, we have the following events coming up:

3/1 – Parent/Teacher Conferences
3/5 – 3/9 – Foreign Language Week
3/6 – Grade 8 Elective Selection with 8th grade counselors
3/8 – PTA Meeting
3/9 – Middle School Talent Show
3/12 – Board of Education Meeting
