Video production students work in college newsroom on William Paterson visit

December 1, 2022

This week, 13 students from the WVHS Video Production 1 & 2 program got to travel to William Paterson University and see how the skills they are developing in class in Warwick will be the foundation they can build a career on.

Video Production Instructor Mr. Daniel Cecconie organized the trip.

“One of my former colleagues, Al Clarke, is a teacher there, and [we] coordinated an experience where my staff would co-crew with his staff of students,” said Mr. Cecconie. “It was a hands-on experience that our students excelled at.”

Students who made the trip to the William Patterson broadcast studio included Brooke Holzhauer and Theo Fernandez, news talent and sports talent respectively, teleprompter operator Jazleen Alagh, JoJo Gagliano acting as A2, and camera operators Shane Crane, Liam Kevins, and Logan McKay.

The Warwick students were excited to spend valuable time in a collegiate level setting and to be mentored by the students. The William Patterson professors who hosted the Warwick students couldn’t say enough about how thoroughly prepared and focused they were.
