Superintendent’s Message 1.2.2022

January 2, 2022

Dear Warwick Valley School Community,

We look forward to welcoming faculty and staff back to school tomorrow, Monday, January 3.

We continue to assess our immediate staffing needs, with a particular focus on ensuring we  can adequately and safely staff our schools and buses. Some bus routes will be delayed tomorrow due to staffing shortages. The District will communicate any changes to bus schedules as soon as possible.

Our strong belief is that our students should continue attending school regularly, and we will do our best to ensure that they do so safely and with minimal disruption. However, our community, similar to the national landscape, is experiencing a significant increase in cases. We will evaluate our staffing needs daily as we review the most up-to-date employee attendance reports. As a result, schools and families should have a contingency plan in place in case of a delay or closure.

As always, if your child is ill, regardless of vaccination status, or has tested positive for COVID in the last ten days, please keep your child at home and contact the school nurse for further instructions.

Sincerely,
David Leach
Superintendent of Schools
