Successful season for Warwick girls tennis

on October 27, 2015

The JV Girls Tennis team, led by co-captains Victoria Smith and Brianne Botta, finished the 2015 season with an 11-1 record. JJ Smith competed as the #2 singles player and compiled an undefeated record. All these student-athletes exhibited growth not only as tennis players, but as civic-minded members of the community. The girls decided to purchase pink t-shirts to wear as uniforms in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The Varsity team, led by Coach Sue Filingeri and captain Jasmine Noteboom, finished the year with a 7-5 record. They faced a highly competitive schedule that also featured challenging crossover matches. The varsity student-athletes acted as mentors to the JV girls from the first day of the season, which contributed immensely to the success of the JV team. Jasmine Noteboom and Ava Ghobadian, #1 doubles, qualified for the county and section tournaments (4th place finish!). Jackie Grundfast and Uli Kitar, wild card doubles, also qualified for the county and section tournaments. Great work!
