Student Change of Learning Model Choice Form deadline extended to Sunday, December 20th

December 18, 2020

The Warwick Valley Central School District has extended the deadline to Sunday, December 20th at 5pm for parents and guardians to complete the Student Change of Learning Model Choice Form. The administration will be meeting over the holiday break to make all necessary scheduling changes so it is important to notify the District of your learning model selection and transportation plans.

As part of our reopening of schools plan, the District allowed parents and guardians to choose to send their child(ren) to school by selecting a hybrid learning model or a fully distant learning model and committing to that learning model for the entire first semester of school. All families were informed that they would have the opportunity to re-evaluate their learning model and be allowed to make any necessary changes for the second semester. We are now at the point in the school year where families will be given the chance to make changes to their child(ren)’s learning platform.

If you would like to make a change to the Learning Model for your child, please log into the Parent Portal and complete the Change of Learning Model Choice Form. This choice will be for the full second semester (February 1st – June 25th). The commitment to the full semester is necessary to secure appropriate and consistent staffing.

The Change in Learning Model Choice Form should only be completed if there is a change:

  •  From Hybrid/In-Person Learning to Distance Learning
  •  From Distance Learning to In-Person/Hybrid Learning

When logging into the Parent Portal, the Change in Learning Model Choice Form will be found under “Announcements.”  One field that the form asks for is the child’s student ID, which was included in an email a few weeks ago, as well as today (Friday, December 18th) to each parent/guardian.

Please note:  If you plan to continue with your child’s current learning model, you do not need to complete the Change of Learning Model Choice Form.
