“Being a science teacher is an incredibly rewarding experience. Science fosters a kind of wonder and creativity that carries far beyond the school walls. I try to make things as tangible as possible for my students. I often take them outdoors to see the applications of our learning units and discuss real issues. Whether they say it or not, I have learned to recognize a certain facial expression that tells me they are thinking, ‘hmm, I never knew that.’ That’s when I know I have helped spark their curiosity and imagination.”

This is Kristin Touw’s ninth year of teaching in Warwick.
