SES “Be a Leader” enrichment class works with HS Leadership Academy students

on March 11, 2016

Mrs. Maraia recently finished her “Be a Leader” enrichment class of nine students in grades 2-4 who participated in team-building and confidence building activities. They also learned about the five key practices of leadership, and created posters explaining each practice: 1. Model the way, 2. Inspire the vision, 3. Challenge the process, 4. Enable others, and 5. Encourage the heart.

On the final day of the class, five students from the High School’s Leadership Academy met with the Sanfordville students. The students interviewed each other and introduced their new friends to the group. Then the SES leaders presented their posters about each practice to their new high school friends. The high school leaders asked the younger leaders questions and engaged them in discussion about how they’ve seen these practices in action in high school.

All the students did an incredible job and truly enjoyed working together! Thank you to the HS Leadership students and Mr. Rich Linkens for making it happen!
