Thank you, to all of the WVCSD Nurses! May 11 is National School Nurse Day

May 11, 2022

Today, Wednesday May 11, is National School Nurse Day 2022!

Nurses are the backbones of healthcare. They provide comfort to patients and families during their most vulnerable and troubled times. Historically, that has always been the case, but recently nurses have been even more instrumental in supporting our students, staff, and faculty.

Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting.
There are more than 95,000 school nurses in the United States who make a difference in the lives of children every day. Our nursing staff at Warwick is compassionate, knowledgeable, and empathetic.

This year, the theme for School Nurse Day is School Nurses: Bridging Healthcare and Education. School nurses lead the way to support health and ensure that students are safe and ready to learn.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to our wonderful nursing team! These ladies do it all! From administering band-aids and applying ice packs to handling emergencies, they take pride in what they do. Their ethic of care is truly top-notch and we deeply value their dedication to our students here at Warwick Valley Central School District.

So, on May 11, 2022, if your school nurse has helped you out, stop on by to offer a high-five or extend a heartfelt thank you to…
