WVMS 7th and 8th students perform in 2025 Spring Concert
The Warwick Valley Middle School Music Department hosted its annual spring concert for seventh and eighth graders on Wednesday, May 7, filling the WVHS auditorium with music, energy and community spirit.
More than 200 talented students took the stage, delivering outstanding performances by the seventh and eighth grade bands, orchestras and choruses. Families and friends packed the audience, making it a memorable evening celebrating student musicianship.
“The music department extends heartfelt thanks to our community for its continued support, which allows our program to thrive!” Shane Peters, WVMS music teacher, said.
Seventh Grade Performances
- Band: Incantation and Ritual, Darklands March
- Orchestra: Lullaby to the Moon, In the Hall of the Mountain King
- Chorus: Sweet Dreams (featuring drums by Aidan Shera), Hold My Hand (solo by Max Paltrowitz; percussion by Robert Young and Ella Srednicki), Mountain Music (solos by Meadow Tveter and Mia Gelman; piano by Lila Monti; banjo by Ryan Muehlbauer)
The seventh grade program wrapped up with the band and orchestra performing Jump, Jive an’ Wail, followed by a combined performance of The Lion Sleeps Tonight with the chorus.
Eighth Grade Performances
- Band: Ancient Ritual, Knox Bridge Jubilee
- Orchestra: The Lovers’ Waltz, In Winter
- Chorus: Something About This Night (featuring synthesizer by Juliet Pulido), Fly Away Home, A Million Dreams (solos by Aiden Payne, Caroline Castellano, Gianna Ricco and Maryam Jallow)
The eighth grade program also concluded with the band and orchestra performing Jump, Jive an’ Wail, capped off by a grand finale of The Lion Sleeps Tonight with the chorus.
It was an inspiring night of music and collaboration, leaving the community eagerly anticipating next year’s performance.
