On Tuesday, May 6, the Warwick Valley Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) held its 9th Annual Induction Ceremony in the high school auditorium. Congratulations to the 32 middle school students who were inducted this year.

Following the procession of inductees, middle school NJHS faculty advisor Michael Justiana addressed the audience of family, friends and fellow faculty. Mr. Justiana was followed by a welcome message from current middle school NJHS president Aislin Wendt.
Superintendent of schools Dr. David Leach and WVMS principal Jared Yapkowitz also addressed the inductees and audience, lauding and encouraging the students for exhibiting values and actions in line with those of the NJHS since 1929: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
NJHS student officers Noel Orthmann, Brianna Martino, Emma Ranaudo, Clair Wendt, and Brooke Mattera expounded on the meaning of each for the audience, before being led in the NJHS pledge by Aislin
I pledge to uphold the high purposes of the National Junior Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school; and will maintain and encourage the high standards of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
A special thank you to WVHS music teacher Elissa Maynard and the high school orchestra for providing the music for this year's ceremony.
