7th and 8th grade students perform in 2026 Spring Concert

Warwick Valley Middle School eight graders play their instruments on stage during the Spring Concert.

The Warwick Valley Middle School Music Department hosted its annual 7th and 8th Grade Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 6, filling the WVHS auditorium with music and energy in two separate performances.

The evening featured awesome performances by the orchestra, band and chorus from each grade under the direction of WVMS music teachers Christy Brown (orchestra), Peter Van de Water (band) and Shane Peters (chorus).

7th Grade Program:

7th Grade Band: Fire Dance, Stay

7th Grade Orchestra: Battle, Curse of the Rosin Eating Zombies.

7th Grade Chorus: Hero, Songs for the People, Unwritten

The seventh grade program wrapped up with the band and orchestra performing Cantina Band, followed by a performance of Can't Buy Me Love with the band, orchestra and chorus.

8th Grade Program

8th Grade Band: Ceremony, Chant and Ritual, Air for Band

8th Grade Orchestra: MacPherson’s Lament, Waltz of the Wicked

8th Grade Chorus:  Dare to Dream (soloist: Jocelyn Brock), Bring Me Little Water Sylvie (soloists Angie McKnight, Mya Spinelli, Siena Donahue), From Now On (soloist Robert Young)

The WVMS Honors Symphony Orchestra performed on stage before the start of each concert. The WVMS 5th and 6th Grade Spring Concert will be on May 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the Grade 5 performance and followed by Grade 6 at 7:30 p.m.
