Students on stage applaud during the National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony at the WVHS auditorium.

The Warwick Valley Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) held its 10th Annual Induction Ceremony in the high school auditorium on May 14. Congratulations to the 47 middle school students who were inducted this year.

Following the procession of inductees, middle school NJHS faculty advisors Ms.. Diglio and Ms. Milazzo addressed the audience of family, friends and fellow faculty. The advisors were followed by a welcome message from current middle school NJHS president Leah Scalo.

NJHS student officers Madison Dewitt. Khloe Rodriguez, Layla Wright, Jackson Brown and Leah then lit candles on the stage and talked about the NJHS’s five pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship.

After reciting the NJHS pledge, the new members signed their names in the chapter book and received certificates.

WVMS principal Jared Yapkowitz also addressed the inductees and audience, congratulating the students for their hard work and commitment to excellence.

Select members of the WVMS Honors Symphony Orchestra played during the procession of inductees and the recessional. The event concluded with a reception in the WVHS lobby, where students and families had the opportunity to celebrate this well deserved honor together.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization recognizing outstanding middle school students.  Congratulations again to the new inductees. We are so proud of you!
