The Warwick Valley Middle School Wildcats modified football team continues its march through the 2025 season this week. And that means it's also Week 4 of their My Jersey, Your Impact campaign!

This week, three more members of the modified Wildcats football team presented their jerseys to teachers who have made significant impacts on their middle school experiences. You can also read the Week 1 and Week 2 and Week 3 stories to see who's been honored this season!

Selected teachers are invited to display the jersey outside of their classrooms on game day, symbolizing the bond between students and teachers, and the connection between academics and athletics. The tradition has become a great way to show off Wildcat spirit, while also reinforcing the value of mentorship and gratitude within the school community. Here this week's Wildcat players and honorees!

Michael Praino (pictured above)
Michael is a returning player at wide receiver and cornerback for the purple team! He approaches practices and games with a terrific work ethic, positive attitude, and maturity. Michael's true love for the game is evident in the way he always puts forth his best effort. Michael presented his jersey to his seventh and eighth grade French teacher, Michael Justiana. Michael P. said that "Mr. J" has really helped him learn the language and always finds ways to make class fun!

Tristan Page
Tristan is a returning Wildcat and plays both sides of the ball as starting left tackle and starting defensive tackle for the purple team. Tristan approaches the game with toughness and a dedication to the hard work it takes to always be improving. He is always looking for ways to help his teammates during practice, and reviews the playbook non-stop to ensure he knows each play. Tristan presented his jersey to his eighth grade math teacher, Thomas Kelly. Tristan shared that he's always liked math and that Mr. Kelly is a phenomenal math teacher.

Marc Rainey
Marc is the kind of player who is both willing and capable of playing any position on the field, on either side of the ball, if it will help the team. He turned in a terrific performance against Newburgh last week, during which he gave a terrific half time speech to motivate his teammates. Marc brings that same tremendous passion and energy to practice every day. In an unprecedented last minute move, Marc presented his jersey to none other than Mr. Kelly, making him the first teacher in "MJYI" history to be picked twice in the same week! Marc presented his jersey to picked his 8th grade math teacher because, "Mr. Kelly is just a really great guy; an awesome guy honestly!"
