WVHS Orchestra Spring Concert... watch the full performance here

The Warwick Valley High School Orchestra, under the direction of WVHS teacher Elissa Maynard, performed its 2025 Spring Concert, Melodies of Spring, last Wednesday night.

The program opened with the first of three senior features, The Swan, performed by violist Lucia Meehan; accompanied on piano by WVMS music teacher Christy Brown.

Next, the WVHS Symphony Orchestra performed three pieces: The Dance of Iscariot, River Song, and Freedom Rhapsody, which included violin solos by Andrew Redling and Grace Stough, and a viola solo by Autumn Levine. 

The second senior feature, Concerto no. 23 in G Major, was performed by violinist Dania Barillas, accompanied on piano by Jim Quinlan.

The WVHS Chamber Orchestra performed next, opening their part of the program with a piece called Darkened Shadows, with violin solos by Andrew Redling and Sydney Stirpe and a bass solo by Madison Buliung. Violist and cellist Angelina Nguyen and Jakob Yon respectively, were soloists in the piece Waltz No. 2. The Chamber Orchestra finished with Russian Sailor’s Dance.

Ms. Maynard took a moment during the program to recognize the seniors on stage: Dania Barillas, Zachary Brescia, Lily Burrows, Ava Cauda, Gianna Crescimanno, Michael Hansen, Lillybeth Kurosz, Lucia Meehan, Angelina Nguyen, Charlene Petreshock, Conner Price, Andrew Redling, Olivia Samberg, Elaina Schlesinger, Kayla Sit, Sydney Stirpe, Marios Veloudos, and Ashlyn West!

Following senior recognitions, Conner Price performed the Class of 2025 Senior Piece -- My One and Only Love -- accompanied by the combined orchestras.

Ms. Maynard and the orchestra thank everyone who came out for the performance, and want to remind everyone of two more gigs coming up that you might not want to miss!
