WVHS Music Department presents 2026 Spring Chorus Concert

Warwick Valley High School students sing during the Spring Chorus Concert in the WVHS auditorium.

The Warwick Valley Spring Concert Series continued last Wednesday, May 20, with the 2026 Warwick Valley High School Spring Chorus Concert!

The concert featured all of the high school's vocal ensembles, directed by WVHS music teacher Noreen Hanson. You can watch the concert in its entirety and see a gallery of images from the evening below this story. Ms. Hanson and her students provided the following message to audience members in the event program

Tonight’s concert is a journey — one that begins in the wonder of childhood and ends standing on the edge of the future.

In the first half of our performance, we invite you to step into a world of princesses, fairy tales, magic, and imagination through the timeless music of Disney. These songs remind us of the stories we grew up with: tales where courage conquers fear, kindness overcomes darkness, and good ultimately triumphs over evil. They reconnect us with the childlike joy and hope that live in all of us, no matter our age.

The song that beautifully connects both halves of tonight’s program is Kermit the Frog’s beloved classic, “The Rainbow Connection.” At its heart, the song reminds us that we are all searching for something — hope, purpose, belonging, and dreams worth chasing. It speaks to the childlike wonder we begin with and the growing sense of possibility we carry into adulthood. Its timeless message reminds us that someday we’ll find our rainbow — “the lovers, the dreamers, and me.”

As the second half begins, our story grows up alongside our seniors. Tonight, we celebrate the students who are preparing to take their next steps beyond these walls. The music in this portion reflects the challenges, dreams, friendships, and lessons that come with growing older. Some songs remind us to “Hold On” during difficult moments, while others encourage us not to lose the unique flavors, memories, and “Mexican spices” that make life vibrant and meaningful. Together, these pieces carry messages of perseverance, inspiration, laughter, and love.

To our graduating seniors: thank you for the music, memories, leadership, and heart you have given to this program. You have left your mark on this choir family, and while we will miss you deeply, we are so proud of all that lies ahead for you.

We hope tonight’s performance allows you to remember the magic of childhood while embracing the excitement and possibility of the future. Thank you for sharing this evening with us.
