Earlier this year, Warwick Valley High School students submitted artwork to the Lower Hudson Region chapter of the New York State Media Arts Teacher Association (MATA). MATA is an arts organization that aims to "promote visual and media literacy and encourage our young emerging media artists to be the creative, critical thinkers of the 21st Century."
We are thrilled to share that their work has been selected as "exemplary," and will be included later this month, in a special MATA online exhibition.

The MATA recognition celebrates artwork that demonstrates unique and compelling content or subject matter, a clear and impactful message or meaning, and a highly creative and innovative approach. One hundred eighty-one students from eight high schools in the Lower Hudson Valley region submitted more than 330 exceptional works of art, which puts the competitive and prestigious nature of this achievement in context.
We are also proud to congratulate Sara Venter, for receiving the 2025 Senior Presidents' Award from MATA.

Seniors could also submit a portfolio of work for consideration of the special Presidents' Award. The award goes to a student whose "entire portfolio demonstrates noteworthy content, a creative and thoughtful approach, meticulous attention to composition, mastery of craft, and overall visual excellence."
