WVHS cosmetology students want to shave your head for a great cause

Warwick Valley High School cosmetology students are inviting anyone who would like to be a hero for kids with cancer to join them at Wildcuts Salon for The Great Shave-Off on March 21!

The students, who are all a part of Kathleen Bettello's cosmetology program, created their event -- The Great Shave-Off: Uniting Beauty and Bravery for St. Baldrick’s -- to bring together their fellow students and families, Warwick Valley staff, and community members in support of children who are battling cancer.

Did You Know... Over 400,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer every year?

The fundraising -- and hair-lowering -- event will take place on Friday, March 21, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Shavees can register in advance and then report to the high school's Wildcuts Salon for their turn under the clippers. And there is more than one way to show your support!

If going bald isn't quite for you, or if you can’t attend in person, you can donate to the cause using this event page. Whether you come to the salon on the 21st with your donation or drop one from your phone, all are welcomed and deeply appreciated. Every contribution helps fund life-saving research.

"I am so proud of my cosmotology students for their effort on behalf of such an important cause," said Ms. Bettello. "They really take the lead on this, and I think it's a wonderful demonstration of compassion, leadership, and service."
