Update: WVHS Interact Club continues outreach program to Honduras

Last week, the Warwick Valley High School Interact Club engaged in a video call with students in Roatán, Honduras, marking a significant milestone in the club's ongoing literacy support initiative with Hilltop Communities' PATH program!

We first reported THIS STORY in September, when students in the high school's Interact Club launched what was their first outreach program of the year. Since September, Interact Club advisor and WVHS teacher Jeanine Fogler and her group of dedicated students have continued to work closely with their friends at Hilltop Communities and Hilltop's PATH (Promoting Art Teamwork & Hope) program.

Earlier this month, the club voted to share some of the fundraising money they have collected this year to help PATH continue its great work abroad. You can read all about that in THIS STORY.  

Just last week, the Interact Club enjoyed a video call with some of the students benefitting from the program in Roatán, Honduras!

"This cross-cultural communication marked a significant milestone in our ongoing literacy support initiative," said Interact Club advsior Jeaniine Fogler. "The session strengthened the club's commitment to regional education and provided a platform for students to discuss the cultural nuances of life in both the US and Honduras."

The Warwick Valley and Roatán students connected over shared interests in music and dance, fostering a sense of global community that Ms. Fogler and the club feel has certainly enhanced their long-term literacy efforts.
