The Warwick Valley High School Drama Club is delighted to announce its 2026-2027 theatrical season, spotlighting two bold productions that expand the club’s tradition of excellence and creativity in the performing arts!

This season promises to captivate audiences of all ages, with a fall drama that tells a compelling origin story and a spring musical that puts a hilariously satirical spin on a dystopian future.

The season opens in fall 2026 with Peter and the Starcatcher, a dazzling and inventive drama that reimagines the origins of Peter Pan. Filled with swashbuckling pirates, magical “starstuff,” and the origins of iconic characters, this play is a theatrical feast where imagination takes center stage. Audiences will journey with a band of orphans, including a lonely boy destined to become Peter Pan, as they cross paths with the notorious Black Stache and discover themes of friendship, courage, and belonging. With its blend of humor, fantasy, and heart, Peter and the Starcatcher promises an unforgettable dramatic adventure. This show will be directed and produced by WVHS teachers Noreen Hanson and Beth Peluso respectively.

In spring 2027, the spotlight shifts to musical theater with the uproarious and thought-provoking Urinetown. This Tony Award-winning satire is set in a dystopian future where a corporate monopoly controls public amenities. When young Bobby Strong leads a revolt against the system, the stage comes alive with infectious songs, sharp wit, and poignant social commentary. Urinetown delivers both laughter and insight as it explores themes of freedom, power, and community resilience. This show will be directd and produced by Ms. Hanson.

All performances will take place in the Warwick Valley High School Theater.

Links to ticket sales will be posted on the WVHS Drama Club webpage as performance dates are finalized for each show.

This season’s exciting productions build on WVHS's impressive list of past performances. In recent years, the Drama Club has staged a diverse array of audience-beloved and critically acclaimed shows, including Les Misérables (Spring 2026), Radium Girls (Fall 2025), Legally Blonde, the Musical (Spring 2025), Puffs (Fall 2024), Cinderella (Spring 2024), The Butler Did It! (Fall 2023), Xanadu (Spring 2023), Goldilocks and the Three Pigs (Fall 2022), and Little Shop of Horrors (Spring 2022). Each has showcased the stellar talent, creativity, and dedication of WVHS students and earned enthusiastic praise from theatergoers from the school and broader community.

The Warwick Valley High School Drama Club welcomes the community to attend this year’s productions and looks forward to sharing another memorable season of student-powered theatrical magic.
