AP Psych students final exam is dinner party with the dead

AP Psych students final exam is dinner party with the dead

Students in Jeanine Fogler's two AP Psychology classes wrapped up the year with a unique get-together, the annual Dinner Party with Dead Psychologists. This culminating event of months of study serves as the classes' final exams.

For the project, each student may select a great thinker and dig deeply into their professional and personal histories, examining the impact each has had on the world of psychology. The final has three main components that must be met.

First the students must prepare a detailed poster board depicting their subject's main contribution to the world of psychology, with supporting details and interesting factoids. The board must be accompanied by a comprehensive resume of the thinker's life.

Then comes the most challenging -- and most fun -- aspect of the project. Students had to be knowledgeable enough on their subject to assume their persona, and then mingle and converse convincingly with their historic peers at a faux dinner party.

Piaget, Noam Chomsky, Maslow, Pavlov (and his dog), William James, two Freuds, they were all there! And, everyone thought it was a great time, therefore it was a great time.
