Parade Float Building Schedule

The following information is for students interested in working on their class's float for the 2025 WVHS Homecoming Parade. Float building takes place at the WVCSD Transportation Garage each evening of Spirit Week, with the exception of Friday. Floats will be judged during the parade on Saturday!

  • Monday, September 15: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Tuesday, September 16: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Wednesday, September 17: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 18: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Friday, September 19: Transportation Garage is closed.

Student Conduct During Float Building

  • Every class must have its work area cleaned up each night. The area will be checked by the advisors.
  • All school rules are in effect, as per the WVCSD Code of Conduct.
  • Any damage done to the facility by any member of a class is the financial responsibility of the class.
  • All students must have signed permission slips turned in by the deadline. Only those students with signed permission slips will be allowed to work at the bus garage.
  • Students must sign in and out at the bus garage.
  • Students should wear old clothes and bring jackets for cold weather.
  • No flip flops!
  • If a student is not working or creates a disturbance, the student will be asked to leave and may not return on future evenings. Parents will be notified.
  • Students must arrange their own transportation to and from the Transportation Garage.
  • Students must be picked up by 9:00 pm or lose attendance privileges.

WVHS Homecoming Court

Students selected to the Homecoming Court are required to ride in the Homecoming Parade on Saturday morning, participate in halftime activities at the football game, and assist with clean-up at the bus garage following the halftime announcements. Marching Band members MUST march with the band in the parade!

  • Three boys and three girls will be chosen as Princesses and Princes from the freshman, sophomore and junior classes.
  • The Homecoming King and Queen will be chosen from the senior class. 
  • Only students who worked on their class's floats for three nights at the Transportation Garage will be eligible for nomination to the Homecoming Court. 
  • Voting will take place at the Transportation Garage during Thursday night's building session.
  • Coronation of the Homecoming Court will take place during the Pep Rally on Friday, September 19.
