Sanfordville Leadership Club donates stuffed animals to first responders

Sanfordville Leadership Club donates stuffed animals to first responders

The Sanfordville Elementary School Leadership Club recently completed a heartwarming community service project by organizing a stuffed animal drive for local first responders. This initiative aimed to provide comfort to children facing emergencies, giving them something to hold onto during stressful situations.

The idea was sparked during a brainstorming session among third and fourth grade Leadership Club members. One student shared a memory of seeing a child sitting alone during an emergency while their parents spoke with first responders. That moment inspired the club to take action.

“We are so proud of our leadership students for seeing a need in the community and taking the initiative to meet that need,” Lauren Hughes and Veronica DeGuisto, the club advisors, said.

As a result of the drive, local firefighters, EMTs, and police officers visited Sanfordville to thank the students and collect their donations. The stuffed animals will accompany emergency personnel, ready to offer comfort when it is needed most.
