District-wide STEAM Fair has it all, from sculptures to servos

The Warwick Valley Central School District STEAM Fair was a resounding success on Tuesday night! From 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, the new and old gyms at Warwick Valley High School hosted science, tech, engineering, art, and math projects from students at every grade level.

See a gallery of pics from the STEAM Fair below this story.

The annual exposition represents a carefully curated collection of student work from throughout the school year, by students in grades 5-12. Proud family members enjoyed seeing their students' work, and there was plenty of opportunity for attendees to meet the student scientists and artists behind each piece and project.

There were students in all disciplines, standing at their stations, prepared to discuss their processes, experiences and results. It was a fantastic way for them to showcase the knowledge and skills they've acquired this year.

Some of this year's STEAM Fair highlights included presentations by the finalists of the Sanfordville, Park Avenue and WVMS STEM Fairs, a look at some bricktastic builds by the LEGO League Jr. teams, demos by the Wildcats Robotics Team, award-winning life-size creations by the Art Department's Jack-o-Lantern team, and more!

Sanfordville unveiled its completed world-building project, Wildcat Metropolis, and high school art students provided a sneak peek of this year's Newspaper Fashion Show!

And because we love hands-on learning in Warwick Valley, there were plenty of activities for families to enjoy. There was a slime-making station in the science gym and drawing activities in the art gym. There was a 3D printing station, and kids could even have their faces painted by WVHS art students. And outside... an ice cream truck!

Thank you to the many families who joined us for the STEAM Fair, and for your ongoing support of STEAM education in our district. In case you missed it, here are a few scenes from Tuesday's event.
