Wildcats Spring Sports Update: May 12, 2026

Boys Track and Field

The Wildcats defeated Washingtonville 95-46 on May 5 to win the OCIAA Division II championship with a 5-0 record. Luke Beattie placed first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes to lead 1-2-3 sweeps for Warwick.

Isaiah Gonzalez won the long jump and triple jump, and Klaus Lindenau was first in both the pole vault and 400 hurdles.

At the Friendship Games in Goshen on May 8, Gonzalez won the 100 in a personal-best time of 10.97 seconds and also placed first in the long jump. Carter Griffin was first in the pole vault with a personal best of 14 feet, six inches, and also won the 110 hurdles in a personal best time of 15.23.

Quenten Liciaga won the high jump.  Warwick hosts the OCIAA championship meet on May 15-16. Go Wildcats!

Girls Track and Field

At the Friendship Games in Goshen, Reagan Smith won the 800, and Ciara Currid was first in the 200. Both also ran on the winning 1,600-meter relay team for the Wildcats. Brooke Kelley was first in the shot put.

Boys Golf

Sophomore Shaun Kunisch fired a 40 to lead the Wildcats to the OCIAA Division II championship at Warwick Valley Country Club on May 6.

Warwick finished first with 179 points, Valley Central was second with 181 and Minisink Valley was third with 183.

Warwick’s Thelo Kastan shot 44, and was followed by Dylan Bess (46) and Matt Poje (49).

The Wildcats finished the regular season with an overall record of 9-3. Six players qualified for the OCIAA tournament, which is being held May 12 at The Powelton Club in Newburgh. This tournament consists of the top 50 players in Orange County. The players that qualified include the 4 from the Divisional match, as well as Will Roome and Andy Chen. The top 29 players in the OCIAA tournament advance to the Section IX tournament on May 18-19 at West Point Golf Course. 


Girls Golf

Alexa Milazzo shot 46 to lead the Wildcats past Minisink Valley 158-164 at Green Ridge Golf Course on May 7. Sydney Becker shot 52.

Congratulations to the girls varsity crew team for capturing the Orange/Ulster Cup Championship.

The girls varsity 4 team (Abby Sorrell, Abby Kane, Riley Seijas, Maya Fong and coxswain Arianna Ovanesian) and girls varsity 8 team (Audrey Finn, Arianna Weinberg, Mila Dispensa, Violet Decker, Leah Purta, Grace Carter, Tierney Neavins, Aubrey Grigalunas and coxswain Arianna Ovanesian) both finished first in their races.

The boys varsity 8 team (Stephan Kitar, Kyle Becker, Jackson Vitkovsky, Nate Brescia, Micah Morgenstern, Eamonn Byrne, Jack Castellano, Bruce Portka and coxswain-Patrick Twomey) finished second.

Congratulations to senior goalie Christian Perron for eclipsing the 200 save mark against Pine Bush!

Henry Wright scored three goals to lead Warwick over Washingtonville 12-5 on May 8.  Cormac Mezzetti and Matt Finnerty each had two goals for the Wildcats.

Wright had four goals and three assists in a 15-13 loss to Kingston on May 6. Levi Solari also scored four times for
the Wildcats.

 

 

 

 


Girls Lacrosse

Kelsy Larney scored five goals to lead the undefeated Wildcats to an 18-6 victory over Averill Park on May 2. Sofia Mazza had four goals for Warwick, now 11-0 for the season.
