Wildcats Spring Sports Update (June 9, 2025)
Boys lacrosse
The Warwick boys lacrosse team posted a historic victory in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B quarterfinals, defeating Section 4 champion Vestal 20-0 on June 7. The Wildcats have won seven straight Section 9 titles, but this was the first time a Warwick team won a state tournament game.
Warwick (16-1) advances to a state semifinal game at 7 p.m. on June 11 at Middletown's Faller Field against Section 8's Garden City, the top-ranked Class B team in the state. The Wildcats are the first Section 9 boys lacrosse team to play in the state semifinals.
Dylan Sullivan led the way against Vestal with four goals and three assists. Ryan Sullivan and Anthony Mazza each scored three goals. Brody Frederick Darren Vogt and Jason Senior each added two goals. Goalie Chris Parron made 11 saves.
Warwick reached the state tournament by defeating Minisink Valley 19-9 in the Section 9 championship game.
Boys track and field
Warwick' Luke Beattie (pole vault and 200-meter dash) and Isaiah Gonzalez (long jump) will be competing in the NYSHPHSAA boys outdoor track and field championships on June 13-14 at Middletown's Faller Field. Beattie and Gonzalez will also be running in the 400-meter relay.
Beattie won the pole vault with a meet-record jump of 16 feet. That's the same height he won the state championship with last spring.

Rachel Venter of Warwick will also be pole vaulting at the state meet after winning the state qualifier with a vault of 12-7.
