Wildcats Fall Sports Update (Sept. 29, 2025)

Football

Warwick kept the game close but Goshen held on for a 35-26 victory in the Spirit Trophy game on Friday night in Goshen. The Wildcats travel to Washingtonville for a game at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3.


Girls soccer

Warwick girls soccer players celebrate a goal against Valley Central.

The Wildcats posted two victories last week. Warwick defeated John S. Burke Catholic 5-2 and Valley Central 6-4.


Boys cross country

Sophomore Leo Shostal led the Wildcats with another strong invitational race, taking sixth in 16:19.2 at the Bowdoin Park Classic in Wappingers Falls. Shostal's time was the second fastest in school history on the course, which hosts the Nike Northeast Regional meet in November and in the past was the site of the New York State Federation championships.


Girls cross country

Senior Madison Olszewski, Madison placed 40th in 21:51.5 to pace Warwick at the Bowdoin Park Classic in Wappingers Falls. Junior Julia Schlesinger was 45th in 22:08.6. The Wildcats finished in 15th place with 353 points.


Boys soccer

Warwick defeated Delaware Valley (Pa.) in a non-league match and then lost to divisional rival Cornwall 2-0. Goalie Dylan Gjersten had 10 saves against Cornwall.


Girls swimming

Freshman Addison Kleveno finished first in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events for the Wildcats in a 96-84 loss to Cornwall. Lily Jocelyn won the 500 freestyle and Kamryn Kleveno was first in the 100 breaststroke.

Addison Kleveno also finished first in the 100 backstroke at the Eastern New York Girls High School Swim Invitational at Valley Central High School.


Girls Tennis

The Wildcats continued their successful season with a 7-0 victory over Monticello.
