Wildcats Fall Sports Update (Sept. 22, 2025)

Girls soccer

A Warwick girls soccer player takes a shot.

Johannah Bradley's three goals led Warwick to a 9-2 victory over Goshen. Teagan Currid added two goals. Carly Freet, Samara Beauregard, Ashlee Camasca and Maddie Luciano also scored. Lexi Pitager had four saves.

The Wildcats also shut out Monticello 8-0.


Boys soccer

The Wildcats continued their hot streak with a 3-2 victory over Goshen and a 4-0 shutout against Valley Central. Warwick has now posted six straight victories, including five by shutout.

The overtime victory over Goshen was the first over the Gladiators in at least four years. Joel Andoh scored two goals, including the game winner. Nick Ryan also scored, and goalie Dylan Gjersten made seven saves.

Andoh, Hunter Lopez, Ezequial Torres and Jacob Mena scored against Valley Central. The Wildcats are now 5-0 in their division. Andoh leads the team with eight goals Ryan has scored four.


Football

In a Homecoming football game that came down to the final play, Warwick fell to Pine Bush 32-28. The Wildcats tried multiple laterals on the last play but could not get the ball into the end zone.

Warwick travels to Goshen for the Spirit Trophy game at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26.


Girls Tennis

Warwick posted victories over Washingtonville, Minisink Valley and Goshen last week to remain undefeated at 7-0. 

In the 5-2 win over Washingtonville, Grace Cornelius notched the first individual match win. Doubles wins by Bianka Grzesik and Celia Greco, Nina Cirillo and Anika Brezina, Hailee Oppmann and Rosalie Mountford helped cement the victory.

The Wildcats were led by No. 1 singles player Keri Leahey, No.2 singles player Piper Stewen, and No. 3 singles player Leah Scalo in a 7-0 shutout of Goshen.


Boys Cross Country

Warwick boys cross country runners at the Suffern Invitational.

The boys cross country team travelled to the Suffern Invitational short-handed as many team members had to fulfill a band commitment at Homecoming Parade. But that did not stop the remaining team members from making music of their own at Darlington County Park in Mahwah, N.J. 

The varsity squad placed third out of 18 teams with sophomore Leo Shostal posting a win with the fastest time of the day and a sophomore course record in 15:55.0.  Shostal was followed by RJ Dovico, Jake Tannar, Brayden Perez and Owen Barrett.  The team next travels to Washingtonville for a big division matchup on Sept. 25th.


Girls Swimming 

Freshman Addison Kleveno placed first in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle to power Warwick past Minisink Valley 107-70. She also swam the leadoff leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay. Lily Jocelyn, Jillian Shaw and Vivian House were also on the winning relay.

In a 113-67 loss to Washingtonville, Addison Kleveno won the 200 freestyle and teamed up with Kamryn Kleveno, House and Shaw on the winning 400 freestyle relay.


Volleyball

Warwick beat Washingtonville. 25-14, 25-14, 17-25, 25-19 to improve its record to 3-1 in the division and 4-4 overall. Evie Boyle had 16 kills, 14 digs and five aces; Daria Kitar had six kills; Peyton Komorsky had 17 assists, 12 digs, six kills and three aces; and, Olivia Connolly had 27 digs and 3 aces.

The Wildcats defeated John S. Burke Catholic 25-10, 25-9, 25-6.  Boyle again led the way with 10 digs and eight kills. Madison Havell had 13 digs.

Cornwall, the third-ranked Class AA team in the state, defeated Warwick 25-19, 14-25, 25-17, 25-21. Boyle had 13 kills, four digs and three blocks. Komorsky had 15 assists and six kills, and Havell had 33 digs.
