Boys soccer
The Warwick boys soccer team posted four of shutout victories last week, beating Washingtonville 2-0, Burke Catholic 4-0, Minisink Valley 3-0 and Arlington B 3-0.
Isaiah Gonzalez and Michael Della Vecchia scored for the Wildcats against Washingtonville. Goalie Dylan Gjersten made three saves in the shutout.
Joel Andoh's two goals led Warwick past Burke. Nick Ryan and Jacob Mena also scored for the Wildcats. Gjersten made three saves and Cayden Honerkap had one.
Volleyball
Warwick defeated Minisink Valley 3-1 and Goshen 3-0 for its first two victories of the season.
Peyton Komorsky had 14 assists, 11 digs and three kills to power the Wildcats past Minisink 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20. Savannah Martino had six kills and three digs, and Madison Havell had 34 digs and four aces.
Warwick beat Goshen 25-15, 25-16, 25-9. Komorsky had another big match, with 14 assists and three four. Evie Boyle had nine kills.
The Wildcats are now 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the division.
Boys Cross Country
The Purple Wave turned in their best race of the season at the Queensbury Pre-States Invitational, with sophomore Leo Shostal placing sixth in 15 minutes, 40.7 seconds on the same 3.1-mile course that will be the site of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships in November. His time was the second fastest in school history at Queensbury.
The Wildcats placed 10 out of 28 teams in the Varsity III race, with 16:58 five-man average. The team was also 15th out of the 99 teams in the boys varsity merge.
Earlier in the week, Warwick defeated Pine Bush 16-46 in the first dual meet of the season. Shostal (17:13.2), RJ Dovico (17:38.3), AJ Kobrick (17:50) and Jack Tannar finished in the top four spots.
Girls cross country
Madison Olszewski placed 56th with a time of 20:26.50 to lead the Widlcats at the Queensbury Pre-States Invitation. Warwick finished 16th in their 22-team race. Julia Schlesinger was 86th in 21:16.70.
Girls swimming
Sophomore Lily Jocelyn finished first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke to help Warwick defeat Monroe-Woodbury 95-87. Addison Kleveno showed her versatility by winning the 500 freestyle and taking second in the 50 freestyle. Jillian Shaw was second in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly.
The Warwick team of Josephine Lorentzen, Caitlyn Coyle, Emma Predmore and Vivian House also won the 200 freestyle relay.
Football
Middletown overcame a 13-0 deficit to defeat Warwick 21-13 at Faller Field. Giacoma Abbate scored on a 9-yard run and Danny Lupkovich threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Sean Perez for the Wildcats.
Warwick will play Pine Bush in the Homecoming Game on Saturday, Sept. Sept. 20.
Girls soccer
Johanna Bradley scored for Warwick in a 1-1 tie with Washingtonville. The Wildcats also defeated Cornwall 2-0.
